Independent guides for people building useful things at home
ABOUT GEARFORLAB

Hardware makes more sense
with the right context.

GearForLab is an independent project about homelab and enthusiast hardware: mini PCs, eGPU and OCuLink gear, networking, storage and the bits that connect it all.

Why this exists

Product listings can be hard to compare. Model names vary, specifications leave out useful details, and a low price does not tell you whether a part will fit into your setup. GearForLab is being built to make those decisions clearer.

We explain the things worth checking, compare options where we have useful information, and call out trade-offs and unknowns. The aim is practical help for real builds, from a compact home server to a desk-side eGPU setup.

How we work

  • We focus on compatibility, intended use and practical limitations, not just headline specifications.
  • We distinguish confirmed product details from assumptions and make uncertainty visible.
  • We update guides when product details or recommendations change.
  • Some links may be affiliate links. They do not determine what we cover or the conclusions we reach.

GearForLab is an independent comparison and product discovery site, not a shop. We do not take payment, handle orders or ship products. Product pages describe the product; source links lead to a separate retailer or manufacturer. The catalog links technical claims to source evidence. It currently contains no verified prices, seller offers or marketplace availability.
